Sheila Meshinski, a Forensic Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE), became involved with the Michigan Human Trafficking Task Force 5 years ago. She was appointed by Governor Snyder in 2015 to serve on the State of Michigan Human trafficking Task Force Health Advisory Board. Sheila will tell you that women who are caught up in the realm of sexual Human Trafficking are often victims twice: first as sexual slaves and then often as victims of coerced abortions. This crime involves minors as well as adults. Sheila’s presentation will raise awareness of this dark underworld that exists just below the surface of our society and help us to understand how this is a life issue.
